Bravo Family Charters Miami Beach Fishing Trip

The Miami Beach fishing trip was chartered by Joe Bravo, his father George and  their good friend Mike from Eatontown, N.J.   Joe is one of the  perennial leading jockeys in the nation and has been a friend of mine for many years.  The game plan was to catch a sail for Mike.    We topped off the well with plenty of threadfins as well as many pilchards.  On our first drift, we had a mystery fish take the middle kite bait , but could't get tight on him.  Set up onother drift just north of Key Biscayne which came up empty. The following drift was an eventful one.  Caught a nice mutton on the down rod as Joe fought him to a tee,  minutes later another mutton which just missed the mark,  was quickly vented and released.  Five minutes later the down rod again really bowed over and Joe picked it up. He felt the head shaking and after a  short time landed a  small but feisty shark.   Caught a big triggerfish, again with action on the down rod.    Kite baits went untouched as well as the flat lines.   Could't find any current which was why the surface was slow.  Joe wanted more action so I decided to anchor off Miami Beach.  Constant light tackle action with Spanish Mackeral was exciting.  Put five Macks in the boat,  all between 24 to 26 inches and released many. Overall an exciting day on the water with Joe ,  his dad,  and Mike!  Thanks Joe, and see you at Gulfstream!!
